This is my first collection of songs inspired mainly by family, what was happening and where we were in the fall of 2008.
Thanks to my wife and kids for their constant love, support and inspiration while I was putting this together.
This collection was completed April 16, 2009
Everything here was recorded at home using Acid Pro from Sony, Pro Fire from M-audio.
Instruments: Les Paul standard, Fender Acoustic Resonator and Axiom MIDI Controller by M-Audio.
Soft Synths: Native instruments and Drum Samples by Toontrack’s EZ Drummer.
Mics: Various from Shure.

Track 1: So Cal
Things are tough out there. Economy in freefall, house prices dropping and everyone is worried. But take a step back and take a look at your kids. They’re still living it up and having fun with their lives despite the turmoil we worry about. Take a leaf out of their books for just a little while |

Track 2: All Those Little Things
I wrote this song for my wife’s birthday. I was sitting waiting on a plane on the tarmac trying to go to SFO with nothing to do and wishing I was at home doing something fun instead. I had a lot of fun with the DJ scratches and wah wah guitar and she liked it enough to get it included in this little album.

Track 3: Bup Bup Lullaby
This is a song for my kids. My eldest daughter listened to classical music in bed and she called it Bup Bup Music. I used to make up words to go along with the music (mostly Mozart and Pachelbel) and the name Bup Bup Lullaby was born. This was my first attempt at MIDI scoring to bring a broader range of instruments to the piece and keep the classical theme. |

Track 4: Mother's Day (Forget About Bling)
Originally this song was written and recorded as a very much demo version on Mother's Day 2008. As my sample library and arrangement skills had improved over 12 months I re recorded the entire song for Mother's Day 2009 and once again avoided the need to enter a Hallmark store |

Track 5: Phone Call From An Alien
This started out as a throwaway song to get over writer's block on the track So Cal. I did get caught up in a phone card scam a few years ago when somebody sold my (and many other) numbers as "Free Calling Cards" and I was plagued by calls from people trying to call all over Latin America thinking I was some kind of operator. In the end I liked the track so much I recorded it and mixed it to fit with the rest of the album. |
